More about Services

The days and times of our main services are described on the Services web-page.  Our services follow a traditional pattern, but in a friendly rather than formal manner.

We normally make use of the Book of Common Worship, using service booklets appropriate to the ecclesiastical season (Lent, Easter, Advent etc).  When Evensong occurs on the fifth Sunday of the month, we use the Book of Common Prayer.

Hymns are taken from Hymns Old & New.  Our 08:00 service on Sundays is a quieter service, without hymns.

At Communion (Eucharist) services, members of other churches are welcome to come to the front of the church to share communion with us, or simply to receive a blessing.

When exchanging the Peace of the Lord, we shake hands with our neighbours in the congregation and say "Peace be with you".

At the 09:30 service on Sundays a collection is taken during the Offertory hymn.  At the other Sunday services, donations can be left on the offertory plate before the service starts.  Gift Aid envelopes are available for donations by taxpayers.  Church members are invited to participate in the Planned Stewardship Giving scheme.  For more information, see the Stewardship web-page.

We are always pleased to be told of those wishing to receive Holy Communion in their homes.  Please contact the Parish Office.
